Al Anson/ This week at Tango Warwick
Al Anson
It was very sad to hear that Al Anson died last night. Many of you will know him, especially if you are from the Midlands, or have been dancing tango for a very long time.He was a good friend of Tango Warwick and we have missed him at milongas since his health made it difficult for him to come.
I first met him on a timorous first visit to the Lutterworth milonga; then one of the few regular milongas reasonably near Warwick. He was one of the founders & organisers, but I later gathered that he had a tango history, and history of service to tango, going back to the beginnings of the modern tango era in Britain. His tango history deserves to be told in full, as do the many reasons why so many of us will remember him with gratitude and pleasure.
