Absolute beginners (and others) classes/ Tango Spa v11

This week we are encouraging new beginners to start to learn tango at 6.30 on Friday at St Mary's with resident teachers Luis Rodrigues & Elizabeth Knock. Details are given below which you are encouraged to share with those you feel should be joining the tango community.  There will be the usual more advanced classes and practica, with  a warm welcome  for Luis & Elizabeth on their return; see below.

On Wednesday there is the usual informal practica at Warwick Space 8.15 to 10.15, £5 at door. Tango dancers of all levels welcomed.

FOR YOUR DIARIES: TANGO SPA v11 will take place on Friday 25th Oct 2024 until  Sunday 27th October. It will have essentially the same format as v10; we have reserved the same lovely venues; and  we are delighted to announce we will  have our superb guest teachers  and performers Jenny & Ricardo Oria, and Corina Piatti, to wield their magic again.

Hope to see you before then though!

CLASSES AT ST MARY'S THIS FRIDAY:

If you have been thinking of taking up real Argentine Tango : NOW is the time!
Warwick's resident teachers Luis Rodrigues and Elizabeth Knock are now back from Argentine and will be starting a new season of their classes, at all levels, in Leamington Spa.
These are classes in Argentine Tango as danced internationally from Buenos Aires to Beijing, via Lisbon, Berlin, Istanbul, Kiev,..., Nairobi,... Goa, ...,Sydney, Hong Kong, Barford, & Paris see
https://www.facebook.com/groups/647271378622582/permalink/5527948360554835/ where anybody who can tango who is passing by, with or without a partner, can join in. It is quite different from ballroom tango! It can be very addictive.

***You do not need to come with a partner, and it is normal, and recommended, though of course not obligatory, to change partners frequently during the classes

There will have a special welcome for beginners on February 9th at 6.30pm (together as always with those who want to brush up their fundamentals, or help and motivate the beginners).
In particular we welcome single dancers as well as couples, newcomers as well as those we haven't seen for months or years, irregulars and regulars alike.

The 7.15 pm and 8.30 pm classes are for more experienced dancers (in Argentine Tango). If in doubt about your suitability for these, especially for the demanding 3rd class, please ask the teachers.

The evening ends with a sociable and lively practica/ social dancing, with some wine, fine cordials, and cake. It will complete an instructive, friendly, and a very enjoyable evening's dancing.

THE TEACHERS are our superb "resident" teachers: Luis Rodriguez and Elizabeth Knock. Their emphasis on elegance and musicality, and with dancing in possibly crowded social events in mind, has made them very popular.
They are based in London. See https://tangoynadamas.org for more about them. You will find many links to videos of them there. If you want to see more of the sort of dancing we do, here are some links to performances by others who have taught for Tango Warwick:
